If the connections are tight and not loose, battery should not drain excessively. Gap in door should not drain batteries. Try gun wrapper over battery to improve connection if battery moves.

Why not remove the memory card and use a card reader attached to your computer ?

More information would be most helpful, please, but two possible causes are that either there is sufficient ambient light for its use to be superfluous, or else within the menu system it has been set not to be available. A quick look through the camera manual should help pinpoint this menu setting and enable you to take corrective measures.

Turn it off, remove the card and battery, leave it overnight and then replace battery and card. This may help - if not, it is probably a repair (expensive) or replace situation, I'm afraid.

hi, may be dust gone in side, it will obstruct the lens's side sensors. with an air blower some times will clear this, if not must open and clear the sensor grooves.

From your description, this could be a symptom of a failing or low-charge battery. Have you tried an alternative battery, or powering from the mains if this is possible ?

Ensure the batteries are the correct kind and chemical makeup (yes it does make a difference!)
try using lithium or alkaline as oppose to standard =]

Otherwise there may be an issue with the camera itself, check for warranty? if it isnt under warranty, document the error message/number, consult the manual AND the support site for the manufacturer.

Sounds like a loose internal connection somewhere. Service centre, I'm afraid.

It is possible that the battery is at the end of its life. You can tell that your battery is in poor condition by the amount of pictures/movies that you can take with one charge is going down considerably.

You can try to do a DIY fix by using some stick on velcro to keep the battery hatch shut. Not a cosmetic solution, but it should do the job.
