my guess is the switch on the lid needs replaced

Many models are designed for the pump to come on first to pump out any residual water that may be in tub. If yours isn’t designed this way, then it would be a control problem

It has a bunch of locking tabs around the base of it. Get your fingers underneath it and pry it up until it pops off. Found a good video showing the procedure -

Under the hub nut there is a washer around the shaft. It can help it from coming out. After u remove that spray some easy out on it
