No if you wash it you will ruin it, the black is just Silver Oxide and will not affect the way the cloth cleans the Silver. Just wipe the residue of the Silver being polished.

I have a Nu Elck Syn Sin clock...but it always strikes 12 times at each hour instead of only once for 1 hour...twice for 2 hours...3 times for 3 hours...etc...but each time...it strikes 12 times. how can i solve this problem ? Or can i stop the "strike" only by taking off the weight ?
