1991 GMC Sonoma 2.5 engine replaced fuel pump, filter. and distributer cap. The truck will randomly die going down the road. After it sits for10 minutes it will restart and run completely normal

Good place to get a vacuum gauge hooked up and identify problems using that tool. Without the gauge, check your exhaust and see how much if passing through the converter. You can do this by testing the temperature of the exhaust before and after the converter making sure the converter/exhaust isn't restricted. As the vehicle warms up a bad converter can cause the symptoms you are describing.

How do you get the interior lights to come on when

Hi, viewer. The interior light is powered and controlled by the body control module or BCM. However, there is an on/off button beside the main headlight switch that overrides the interior lighting function. If this button is off, interior lights will not come on regardless of any door being closed or opened.

If this button is on, interior lights will come on whenever a door is opened. If you close all doors, and if the driver door is the last to be closed, the interior lights will stay on for about 30 sec and then the lights goes off automatically. In case you left any door opened too long, the BCM has an internal timer that will shut off the interior lights automatically when it detects that a door is still opened and the allowable time has elapsed. The BCM is programmed this way to protect the battery circuit and functions. : )

2004 GMC Envoy SLT 4.2l 4 wheel drive. Why does the rear wheel stop turning or lockup when I put the shift lever in drive when I have either one of the rear wheel off the ground?

Hello Joe At some stage someone has has the vehicle in 4 wheel (especially if it have a 'Low Shift)' and has done a tight circle. When that happens the inner wheel in the turn tries to turn slower or even backwards. To fix it. Chock the front wheels and with the truck in neutral, jack up each rear wheel and let is spin and untangle itself. If you have a trolley jack, you can lift both sides

Getting code C0292 lost communication with Engine Control System any ideas on a fix! 2004 GMC Yukon Denali XL

The C0292 code in your 2004 GMC Yukon Denali XL indicates a communication issue between the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) and the Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM). Here are some steps to diagnose and potentially fix the problem: Check Ground Connections: Inspect the ground connections related to the PCM and EBCM. Follow the ECM ground and ABS module ground. Check the ground on the firewall (driver's side) and the frame rail under the driver's seat. Also, verify the engine ground on the driver's side. Inspect Wiring and Connectors: Visually examine the wiring harness and connectors associated with the EBCM. Look for any signs of damage, such as broken wires or corroded pins. Ensure that the connector pins are not bent or pushed out. Pay attention to any loose or poor electrical connections. Consider the Tune: If you've recently modified the vehicle's tuning, consider reverting to a different tune. Sometimes, a specific tune can cause communication issues. If you suspect the tune, contact the tuner for further guidance1. Professional Diagnosis: If the above steps don't resolve the issue, it's advisable to seek professional help. A qualified mechanic can perform a thorough diagnosis using specialized tools. Keep in mind that diagnostic costs typically range from $75 to $150 per hour.

It is not legal to 'adjust' speedometers. Fit the correct sized rims and tyres and the speedometer reading will be correct or use a satnav for real time speed.

Gmc canyon trouble code p0300

Hi there:Basically this means that the the car's computer has detected that not all of the engine's cylinders are firing properly.A P0300 diagnostic code indicates a random or multiple misfire. If the last digit is a number other than zero, it corresponds to the cylinder number that is misfiring. A P0302 code, for example, would tell you cylinder number two is misfiring. Unfortunately, a P0300 doesn't tell you specifically which cylinder(s) is/are mis-firing, nor why.Symptoms may include:the engine may be harder to startthe engine may stumble / stumble, and/or hesitateother symptoms may also be presentA code P0300 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:Faulty spark plugs or wiresFaulty coil (pack)Faulty oxygen sensor(s)Faulty fuel injector(s)Burned exhaust valveFaulty catalytic converter(s)Stuck/blocked EGR valve / passagesFaulty camshaft position sensorDefective computerPossible Solutions: If there are no symptoms, the simplest thing to do is to reset the code and see if it comes back.If there are symptoms such as the engine is stumbling or hesitating, check all wiring and connectors that lead to the cylinders (i.e. spark plugs). Depending on how long the ignition components have been in the car, it may be a good idea to replace them as part of your regular maintenance schedule. I would suggest spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor cap, and rotor (if applicable). Otherwise, check the coils (a.k.a. coil packs). In some cases, the catalytic converter has gone bad. If you smell rotten eggs in the exhaust, your cat converter needs to be replaced. I've also heard in other cases the problems were faulty fuel injectors.Random misfires that jump around from one cylinder to another (read: P030x codes) also will set a P0300 code. The underlying cause is often a lean fuel condition, which may be due to a vacuum leak in the intake manifold or unmetered air getting past the airflow sensor, or an EGR valve that is stuck open.Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I`ll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.Thank you for using FixYa, have a nice day.
