You have either two options. First contact the makers of the software to see if they can send you a replacement or a download of it. Search either Amazon or E-Bay to see if a disc is for sale there.

That.... sounds like a bad capacitor in the audio playback somewhere. Try the VCR 2 PC on a different computer, and see if it's the VCR 2 PC doing it, or, if the problem in in your computer's sound card. I guess here, bc I am not conversant with the device, and am unsure where the analog-to-digital conversion is being done.If it's being done by the computer, then it may be the computer's sound card. As an old audiophile and electronics technician, popping noises in audio is usually a bad capacitor. If it's not still under warranty, shop fixes can get pricey, fast... unless it's the computer's sound, which can be fixed by disabling the onboard card and installing a new, if it has an onboard.

The time setting doesn't work any more, hours and minute both stand on 00, and the arrow up and down gives no difference. What can I do?

Most of the answers to your questions will be solved by going into your computers audio set up. In windows you right click on the speaker icon on the taskbar. You can then set the recording levels correctly.

clean the heads, rotating head and audio head need to work together to read the speed of the tape also when recording there is a code it needs to read that is just out of the audio range on the tape and this is where the dirt from the tape can build up lp and xp use this area, standard play uses audio. but they all controlled by a processor to control motor speed.
