ck your setting on control panel sometimes they get changed , also ck that your catch bucket is fully installed sensors are there that keep it from running if it does not have a bucket installed

ck your settings on control panel , lots of times they set the set point high at factory so it wont turn its self on to remove water . also ck your rooms available humidity level sometimes there's not enough water in air for one to remove much

I do believe this one of those models that uses one display for both setting of humidity level and the timer , make sure you are viewing the timer function and not the humidity function , this is a very common complaint with these type as many times one sets the on time correct but then sets what they believe to be off time when they really are adjusting the humidity room level , there should be tiny lights that show function you are adjusting

unit runs If set to continuous mode only ? the other settings are a time off function that lets unit run only a portion of day , saves energy

noisey machines is a very common complaint I hear , most times it comes from being placed on a non level floor , and only two or three of the four legs are touching the floor , this makes it go off balance , second on units that run for greater than a year , they pick up build up on there fans and this makes it Micro wobble , fans can be removed and cleaned and legs can be shimmed to touch floor

counts down from what to where ? or is it your seeing the humistat showing you the rooms air humidity is going down ?

bucket is full or not seated well inside machine

if it's working well it should , unit should be removing all the moisture from air expelling out back , so its dry air its when coils freeze up then you have a indication of problems

most units draw in the front and expel from the rear air , keeping filters clean (never run without one) is important for this function , frost on coils is a sure sign that air flow is low , or might be unit has lost [part of its gas charge due to heat build up from loss of cooling

listen for it , compressors have a distinct sound of tiny rocks hitting a pan (that not what's really going on in there ) that fans don't have most units have a timer function that makes u wait for compressor to come on long after fan starts , so u might have to listen for up to fifteen minutes for it

if you hold mode button down does it not cycle thru timer settings?

units that leak some times are a total loss but not allways , sometimes its just not being used on level surface (water seeks level allways) , there are lots of ports inside that need to be kept clean for all the units water to drain out , look inside with a flashlight to see if any buildup is obvious that might be cleaned off ? if not a last effort is to remove cover to see 1st hand what cause is(remove power plug 1st) , rust /mold/dust are all common things to find inside that affect units operation

ck to see that bucket is installed all the way back inside cabinet , they sometimes hook the bucket presents switch together with the full switch

if your talking about a humidifier that's connected to a hvac system , there are two basic types , one uses a wheel similar to one a small pet rodent would exercise its self on , but this one is covered with a mesh that holds water, and a motor not a rodent turns it , fresh water is maintained in a dish in bottom of unit by a level activated valve ,it's activated in two methods one by airflow switch (paddle) and another by being connected to blower motor of air handler(electrically) the other type is nozzle type , these need to be mounted in long straight runs of main duct work not more than ten feet from furnace (heat) these simply have a air flow switch that opens a valve to let house water into nozzle in duct , much smaller than 1st version unit

if water full light stays on the compressor wont start and remove water from air , investigate why light stays on ? is bucket really full? is sensor knocked out of its fragile holder ? is bucket all the way inside machine so that sensor is connected ?

ck the water catch bucket , sometimes ive seen machines stop after running a few minutes because it shook catch bucket from its perch

could the water catch bucket not be seated correctly ?

if frost is building up on coil face with it running 24 hrs or more , then id say yes it's low on a gas charge

signs of frost on your machine is an indicator that (1) there's not enough air flow over coils and (2) there has occurred a leak in your system and some or all of the gas has escaped out to the atmosphere number 1 usually causes number 2 due to increase in heat unplug for 48 hrs then try it again if no joy then you'll need to replace it
