Hi, open the front panel of the printer and switch printer on...this will make the printer carriage move to the centre of the rail....remove the cartridges and press and slide the small plastic "button" that sits on print head carriage....this will release the print head from the cradle....to re-attach just press the cradle towards the rear of the carriage using the target icon as a guide..

Fix for Missing software disc for installation

Fix to, lost the cd to donwload my printer

Evidently there is an exe file that must not got onto the drive correctly. Sometimes they will begin the install and actually complete the install when you connect the USB cable. If not, you will have to find an internet connection and go to the site, find your model and begin the download from there,

Defective cartridge.

There should be a icon on the printer properties where you can do a little maintenance on the print heads, etc. Also take the cartridges out and dab the head onto a tissue and check the ink that appears. Do a factory reset if there is a place to do it on this model. Finally as a last resort, deinstall and reinstall.

Dab the cartridges on a tissue and see if the image comes out solid, ink I mean. By doing this you can rule out the cartridge. Don't assume that fresh cartridges are okay. I have been in the printer business for years and seen many cartridges that are defective from the shelf.

Did you replace the cartridge? Also make sure the cartridge has ink coming out. Dab a little on a tissue to see. If it doesn't come out, that is your issue. Also make sure shipping protection is removed if any. Ink Jets has a tendance for the cartridges to dry up. Even new cartridges can be bad.
