There are many situations by witch a printer can act that way. Remove all cartridges after turning off the printer or unplugging it. On each cartridge are metal pins or contacts, usually gold colored. Take a Qtip saturated slightly with rubbing alcohol and rub (clean) off any residue, pat dry and let air dry. Do not touch with you fingers as it leaves film on the contacts. Reach inside the cartridge well and you will see corresponding contacts. Do the same as you did with the cartridges. Visually look at the contacts to see if any old ink may still be present. If so, clean again. Now you have a good connection between the cartridge and the printers contacts. Replace and see if that corrects the problem. Generally, it is a good idea to use brand new carts, but if the previous carts are full, use them anyway. When you turn the printer on, go through the head cleaning and alignment procedure first before you try and print a page. See if this fixes the problem.

This used to happen all the time when I had one. The best thing to do is to completely uninstall the printer and all it's added programs from your computer.
Switch off the computer and let cool down (have a cup of coffee) Now reboot the computer and then reinstall the printer and follow instructions to connect via Wi Fi
If this works make sure auto update is switched OFF as every time mine was updated your problem occurred. So much for Degreed wonders who try to justify their existence and completely mess up a perfectly sound working system when they don't know what they are doing, shame they never seem to have a brain or any logic.

Brand new ? take it back to the store ? ask for a replacement but pick a different brand ,maybe a small $ adjustment might be necessary depending if you pick a more or less expensive brand .

Printer software may not be compatible with the OS on new laptop. Check out that angle.

Could be that your unit is running pretty much at max memory and the slightest thing or interruption will stop it dead in its tracks...Try adding another memory strip or a larger one to see if that has any effect. Or maybe your OS is unstable and the slightest thing causes a malfunction.

The operating system software for the old printer must be compatible with Windows 7 and above or it will not work wit the new computer.

If the printer is not connecting to the wireless router, you need to address that problem first. It wasn't clear from your problem description whether or not that is the case. If the printer is getting a successful wifi connection then you may need to delete the printer from your PC and re-add it.

Reboot your computer as well as your scanner, also check your data cable if properly connected as well as the power cord of your scanner, else try to uninstall your printer/scanner and reinstall it again. Reboot again and try connecting again. Usually, it is not possible to use your scanner simultaneously while printing.

To help you troubleshoot the issue, please follow the steps as given below:
- Make sure printer power connections are firmly connected to both end of power connector.
- Make sure power switch is turned on.
- Please try swapping the power point that is working properly.
- Please change the power cord to see if that is the issue.
- If issue persists, it is recommended to contact 'Kodak Support Center' from the link given below for further troubleshooting as it might be internal hardware issue:
