Hello I have this M50 61 key korg model, I had the same issue the fix is simple remove the back cover on the unit, carefully push in all the small cables reattach them well do it to all the small connectors these cables get lose and cause this issue, good luck let me know if that helped I fixed mines that way its been working excellent since. good luck..

Hello, You may want to reset your machine, all data and pre loaded programs, for this you must turn on your M50 press the global mode button, click on the top arrow next to (basic) select option 2, load pre-preloaded demo data, you then choose all (PCG and demo songs). press OK. Your Korg will re install all factory samples, data and settings. Once completed It will then instruct you to turn off your machine. give it a minute or so to self upgrade before turning it back on, once you turn it back on you should see updating panel notifications right and left, you should be able to use all of the sounds and combi's available for M50. that's a factory reset. 5VDC is absent. The 0 Ohm safe resistor is dead. Backlight is off in this case too.

Step 1: Check the setting of LOCAL CONTROL in GLOBAL mode. Go to GLOBAL mode page 1 (Figure 1-2): Move the cursor from the MASTER TUNE to LOCAL CONTROL. Setting LocalControl should be in the ON position. When the setting is OFF,set it to ON (use dial TEMPO / VALUE or DOWN / UP button). Go back to ARR or PROG mode,and play the key to check audio. Step 2:If in step 1, the sound still does not exist, then it is a hardware problems, and the possibilities are : Figure 3, the section in red shading is a block may be damaged. Figure 4 is a scheme. Parts that might be damaged in case of no-audio are: IC 2,4,5 (4570), IC9 (78L05), IC6 (PCM69AU), IC 3 (5216). Check also the transistors Q1-Q7 (This is the MUTE transistor, and this is most often the cause in case of no-audio). If you can not fix it by yourself, then leave it to the experts...

You can try a full reset (instructions in your manual) and if it's a software glitch that should fix it. If it's the switch itself, you have to disassemble the unit to get to it to try to clean it or replace it.

If you have updated your computer OS it may no longer be compatable. Other than that do a herd reset on the Korg and see if that helps.

It's more likely to be a cleanning issue. Really, it's almost as easy to replace the switches as to clean them. Parts are available on ebay for very little money.

It is power supply regulator problem. In the regulator circuit, DC 12volt from adapter is separated into +8V, -8V, +5VA, +5VD. Some causes when the unit hang /blank/ frozen is one of the existing supply voltage is drop. In general, +5V. Also check the adapter voltage, if still normal and the current is sufficient. Adapter must have DC12volt and current of at least 3 amperes. It may happen, when the adapter is measured without load, it's read normal 12v, but when loaded to turn on the keyboard, many voltage decreases (lets say,between 8-10v). This indicates that the adapter is not good and need to replace.

Floppy emulator can't read flashdisk untill it formatted. Flashdisk MUST BE format by special softwares. Install the softwares on the PC/notebook. No matter how much flashdisk capacity,floppy emulator will continue to read as one 1.44MB floppy. Through special softwares formater, we can determine how many floppy that we will create. Lets say,100 floppy (or more),softwares will format the floppy 1.44 100 times on the flashdisk. So we have 100 pieces 1.44MB floppy inside flashdisk. If one floppy can store about 30 MIDI songs,then it means that we already have 3000 songs in flashdisk. If you format for 100 floppy,the total capacity of about 144MB. So,flashdisk with a 2GB capacity, is more than enough to store songs. To change from one floppy to enother,just press bank number at floppy emulator panel. I hope this helps. Regards.

It's about hardwares. Wiring connection sockets is loose. Inside the korg PA50,Wiring connection to the keyboard is separate to left and right. Open/disassemble your korg. Look for connection cable to the left keyboard. One end is on the keyboard,the other end is at the mainboard. Unplug both of it, then mounted again. For master volume,better buy new one.

Your questions,what does it mean? If you use PA50SD,of course you don't need floppy emulator. If you use PA50 with floppy emulator,you need to format the flashdisk with special softwares (SFD 1.23 etc) that usually included when you buy the emulator.

It's about hardwares. If dead keys are the same notes(C2-C3-C4 or E2-E3-E5 etc),its electronic parts problem. If dead keys are random(D1-F1-G3-B5 etc),chances are :

• Rubber keypads is break. Below the keyboard. Replace it.
• Dust can cause bad contact the carbon inside the rubber keypad. Clean it.

If you mean is to OFF the key touch,this is the steps :

• Press GLOBAL.
• Press PAGE+ . Find menu VELOCITY CURVE. To select parameter,use left/right arrow buttons(move cursor).
• Set the value to 0,by press up/YES or down/NO buttons, or use VALUE slider.

There is no adjustment to control the brightness in korg pa50/sd. It is hardware problem. -Is the white backlight that is too high? or -normal backlight,but words is too dim? Both of that case,can be caused by damage / change of voltage control for lcd. Perhaps there are parts that are damaged or have changed in value. Typically capacitors etc. If the backlight is too bright, then the damage is in backlight controller, may transistor or an inverter transformer. Proceed with the repairs to the experts.
