If the BIOS is set to AUTO and it's reporting that it can't find it most likely cause is because the HDD has died. You should try opening the case and reseating the HDD to it's connectors to see if that helps. Have to opened or changed anything in the computer before this happened? If reseating the HDD doesn't help, it's time to go and buy another HDD.

To unlock it, there should be a button on the top of the touch pad. It's really small and in the middle. Above it should be an LED. Tap that with your finger and it should unlock, another solution could be it could be one of the FN keys. You have an FN button, and then on your numbers or F keys it should have little icons that are actions, look for something that looks like the touch pad and that should fix it right up.
