Software Firewalls and Linksys Routers
You can never have too much security, however there are some firewalls that will not work with hardware firewalls, that includes the all Linksys Routers . Keeping this in mind, some software firewall will continue working after the router is installed. If it does, it shouldn't need to remove it, because it's an extra layer of security. However if there are difficulties using the Internet with the Software firewall after installing the router, try disableing it to see if internet is accessable. If the internet works after disabling the software firewall, then remove the firewall.

Step 1. click the stat button on the lower left side of your Desktop screen, click all programs and look for Accessories, then click command promp this should show a black screen with a blinking cursor type in ipconfig then press enter this will show you information about your networks ip address, Look for Default gateway something like this 192.168.2.1 this varies on the router that you have.
Step 2. Enter the IP address on the address Bar of your browser then press enter this should show you the Routers settings page that is where you can see your routers settings for the security key.
to see your security key in windows you will need to check in device manager and click open Network and sharing center.

Certificate error
A "certificate-error" occurs when you access a "secure-HTTP" site (one that uses the 'https://' prefix for the URL) and the "certificate" that the site is "secure" (namely that the site really is the site that it claims to be) is invalid. Certificates have a "start-date" and an "end-date" and certificates can be "revoked". If the certificate is for a different web-site ('web.site.com' versus 'www.site.com') or is revoked, or if the current date is not between the "start" and "end" date, you get the "certificate error" message.
What site did you try to access?
How do i fix the following message on my linksys router Response header parsing failed: Response data.
First and foremost, did you start with the Holy Grail of steps when dealing with routers?
30-30-30
YES! It does make a difference and it matters.
Hopefully you haven't bricked it (probably not).
If it is powered on, press and HOLD the reset button until the VERY END, DO NOT LET UP.
Holding the reset button for 30 seconds, then unplug the power and wait 30 seconds, plug power back in and wait 30 seconds. . . NOW you can let up on the reset button.
Now you can try and reflash the firmware, DO make sure you are using the correct version of DD-WRT for your EXACT model AND Version.
I have only done a few, but the 30/30/30 is crucial I am telling you!

No power to my router
Check the wall outlet for power, using a lamp or such. If you can get a multi-meter, set the meter to Volts-DC between 12 and 20. Plug the power supply into the wall outlet and test the other end for voltage. The power supply should tell you its output so the reading should be more than a couple of volts. If it is less or ZERO the power supply is dead. If it has power, then open the router and check for a fuse. If the fuse is dead, replace. If there is no fuse or the fuse is OK then the router may be dead. Best of luck.

How to connect a usb hub to Linksys EA7400
It depends on the power capability of the EA7400! Usually, those ports are rated at 500ma, or 0.5 amps each. If you plug in a non-powered hub into one of the ports, it will draw power from the EA7400 to operate. If the power draw needed exceeds the capability of the port, it won't work properly. A powered hub relies on an external power source. In that case, only data collisions (oversaturating the ports) need to be considered.
