I would reset the mode dial to the correct position.

Make sure the picture of the setting you are using on the turn dial is lined up with the beige pointer on the top of the camera. When you turn the dial, you can feel it lock into position. It may be fixable, but would be expensive. Probably time for a replacement - they do not seem to be very expensive second hand.

in menu look for format near that is transfer files to what you want jp or other

Why do you wish to put a date stamp on a camera - is it to record the date of purchase ? I would strongly advise against it, as it will lower the resale value of the item quite considerably.

That's a great camera but it sounds like you have a bad sensor. Probably beyond economic repair.

You may need to reinstall the camera software on your notebook.

It most certainly could be the camera miss reading the card. However, lately many of the sd cards I have purchased can't be formatted. If you have a PC/Laptop you can re-format the card and then try it in the camera.

Your photos all have a date stamp as well as all the camera settings when shot and are revealed in your editing software. I don't know how to have the date printed on the face of the photo. This is a Book about the DMC-FZ200 about the Panasonic Lumix DMC FZ200 User Manual Paperback December 9 2013 . I have both the camera and the book. The author, Graham Haughton, is highly respected in the field. There is no better book nor guide. This goes from basic to advanced. Common style: on page ___ it says ...., what it really means is .... and a better and easier way is .... Or, ...this setting is awful, turn it off. It made the FZ200 fun to use and get some great pictures.
