Maytag Dishwashers - Page 3 - Answered Questions & Fixed Issues
Maytag Dishwasher W10199645 the top rack is not getting washed. Help needed.
The Maytag spray arms always get clogged and stop spinning. There is no easy way to remove the food matter from the inside of the spray arm after it gets pretty filled....UNTIL NOW...Drill a 1/4" hole on each end of the spray arm on the top. This method works for either spray arm, but be careful to leave at least 1/8" of distance from the two small holes that spray out water, when you drill the hole. Then using a Dremel tapered stone grinding bit enlarge the hole to 5/16" to accommodate a stainless steel 5/16" plug with the inside hex head. Also use the fine thread, not the course thread, as it will screw more securely onto the thin stainless gage arm and will last. Grind to enlarge the hole a little at a time to make sure your plugs thread into the arm snugly. I have been using our modified arms on our Maytag for over a year and we now have consistently sparkling, clean
dishes. We run the washer twice per day and clean out the arms at least once per week which takes only two or three minutes.

My Maytag Quite series 300 dishwasher comes on but when it goes to wash it starts to hum and will not start
I have an old GE that did the same thing, if I don't use it enough it will do the same thing. The hum is from the electric motor in the bottom trying to rotate. I don't know your machine but I assume they are all made closely the same. Remove the bottom cover. You should see the back of the motor and it will probably have some slots in the rear cover. Close the door and try to start it while looking through the rear slots. I saw mine turn like an 1/8 inch and stop. The first time it did this, I unplugged a connector feeding the motor, tried to start it to make sure it didn't do anything and then with a long thin screwdriver went to the slots to help turn the motor. The second time I discovered on the right side of the motor housing there was a small opening towards the front of the motor (rear of dishwasher) I was able to get my fingers in there and turn the motor a few times by hand, plug the connector back in and the dishwasher started right up. Seems like the engineers knew this could be a problem and left an access point for us (or dishwasher repairmen to use and charge us $80 or something)

We have a Maytag MDB7601AWW
Just inside the dishwasher usually on the bottom right in the front is a mushroom shaped "float" lift it up and down a few times making sure it ends up in the down position. if you move it slowly you should hear some clicks. do that and try to run the dishwasher if that does not fix the issue then your going to have to get a meter and see if you have 120v to the fill valve when you start the dishwasher. if you have the 120v then replace the fill valve
