The spring is from the Idler / Tensioner pulley.

Make sure there is nothing in the way of the door closing good. Sounds like something keeping it from closing good.

All the terminals should be different in size with the big terminal wire being common which goes in the middle the other 2 wires make the light come on and make the motor go so if you get em backwards she will run with the door open and the light will come on with the door closed.. If the belt is slipping it can sometimes screech, or it might be the idler pulley needs lubrication. Take is all apart, clean and lubricate all the moving parts, drum slides and rollers. ..

Does your machine show an error code on the display? If you've replaced the main board there could be either a motor position sensor fault or the motor is bad. The control board needs an input signal to know when to start a cycle. Some machines fail due to a primary fault - like an agitator seal has worn out, causing the wash water to leak onto a component and eventually damaging it.

If you have to wiggle the timer knob to make it run most likely you will have to replace the timer & they are expensive. Check all the wires going to the timer & make sure they are not loose & making a good connection.You may luck out I've seen that happen , timers are hard to repair some of them you can't .Hope this helps

Could be something not letting the motor turn freely. Like lint jammed against the fan , tub bearing bad or needs grease . if the motor will turn freely by hand it could be a bad motor.winding .you could take the drum belt off the motor & see if the motor will run ok If it buzzes with the belt off pretty sure the motor is bad you would have to replace it . A motor is expensive so try to check everything to be sure it is bad. I have seen some that you could oil the motor shaft & it would help. If lint is keeping the motor from turning clean all the lint you can all through the dryer & the outside vent .If you check the motor with the belt off don't run it very long as it will get too hot .
