How do you remove the oven door from a Maytag MGR

There aren't any latches on the Maytag MGR5780 oven door hinges. You should be able to open the door to the first stop (about 4" from the closed position). Then grab the sides of the door and lift the door up at that same angle until the door clears both hinge arms. Manage My Life has the manual for the MGR5780 here: http://www.managemylife.com/mmh/owner_manuals/25316/MAYTAG-Free-Standing,-Gas-L0303326 . See page 15 (16 of the PDF) for a picture of the door open to the first stop position. You will need Adobe Reader or a similar program to read the manual.I hope this helps. Cindy Wells

EE problem

It could be the control board. I found out that this model air conditoner has had problems with moisture getting in the control panel and shorting it out when it's humid outside. I have the part number if anyone wants it. It cost me about $45 from Sears Parts.

Top tray not draining

I called the service tech, before Maytag stopped supporting this unit. (built by Fedders with Maytag name). Fedders has gone out of business (7-09). The tech guy said that the tray gets clogged up with crud and the solution is to try to flush the tray out with water and compressed air. I had the problem of water leaking from the trays but not properly draining through the drain hose. This solution did the trick.

Water leaking from portable air conditioner

First, make sure the unit is level. If so, you have a blockage or kink in the drain tube. Careful inspection should reveal any blockage, & you may be able to poke it thru with a piece of coathanger wire. Don't use excessive force, any block should be easily freed.
