Won't turn
There is a separate RA motor and a clutch to turn the scope in synch with earths rotation. Have you turned the lever to engage the clutch ? If not there may be a mechanical problem requiring disassembly to diagnose
Dec auo running as power on?
I had this problem after a repair and was told to unconnect all boards and then reconnect them. Amazingly it worked and is worth a try. If this does not cure your "runaway dec" , call Tony Castanza at the Astronomy Shoppe in NH. He fixed my LX200 and may have some suggestions. If your Dec motor resistors need tuning I'm guessing he can do it.

From the AUX port, but you will need Meade software for the PC which comes with a cable. See p25 here

How do I dismantle a Simmons #1210 scope
That is an old Japanese spotter scope. I don't know if I would spend any time trying to fix it Back about a year ago they were selling for $35 dollars or so.

Use meade 644 flip mirror system
Need more information- several Meade scopes have a flip mirror like the ETX 90 for example. Usually it is in the position to use with an eyepiece. However it can be flipped so the rear port can be used on the telescope.
Hope that helps. There is a known issue with these old flip mirrors- the adhesive holding the mirror can fail. You must disassemble the scope and apply new adhesive to hold the mirror in place.

Meade autostar not been used for a while and now will not start
Letting any electronic device set is the hardest thing you can do to it. However, most electronic devices will regain their functions if you leave them powered up long enough. It make take a while but it will probaby eventually start working again. Be sure and check any battery terminals for acid build up and clean them good. Hopefully it will come alive again

How do I get the image right side up
All good astronomical scopes present the image upside down.(SCTs are also left/right reversed) For terrestrial use, you need to by a erect image eyepiece
What IC's uses the control of the focus motors
I'm assuming you will change these ICs yourself and that's why you're asking. If you have access to the circuit board, then you should be able to find some numbers on the IC which you think is blown. If you can pull that IC and look at it's underside you may be able to find a number you can search on the internet for. Or you can find a number on the circuit board itself and maybe find the company that made that board and contact them to find out the IC you need. You can probably find an IC match as long as the pins are in the same order and the voltages are the same. Good luck!
