Memorex Traveldrive - Recent Questions, Troubleshooting & Support
I connect the travel drive
If you are talking about an external drive, there could be several things to cause the problem: 1) cable plug could be loose at either end, 2) cable could have been bent too sharply causing wires inside to be damaged 3) USB plugs could be bad on computer.
I use a USB extension on my USB computer plugs to save wear and tear on the plug itself. 4) there could be loose connections inside the external drive 5) the drive or the electronics inside the box could be going bad. I usually figure on about 2 years on an external drive, then I replace it.

The disk is write protected how can I remove it
The Mac OS cannot write to a NTFS formatted drive. If you want to use the drive on both PC and Mac, you will need to format it to FAT32. If you are going to use it only on Mac, then format it HFS+.
Disassemble drive
You probably need to contact a disk recovery specialist such as DATA365. http://www.datastor.net.au

I cannot get my Memorex 64GB USB flash drive to
Trouble shooting steps I would probably take: 1) Power cycle the computer (unplugged), and try it again, when it is COMPLETELY booted.2) unplug it and plug it into a different port(s).4) Try it on a different computer (both PC and MAC, as it could be a formatting issue) (if it doesn't work, entertain the reality that I may have lost everything and may have to format the drive and/or buy a new one)
Transferring files via external hard drive to new computer
You just need to connect the external hard drive to the new computer. Once it has connected and Windows recognizes the drive it should pop-up with the window asking what you would like to do (select the option to View Files). Also at this time open the folder on the new computer that you want to store the back-up files in. Make the external hard drive folder and the new computer folder sit side-by-side. Then while holding down the CTRL button on the keyboard click each file you want to move. When you are done selecting them - right click on any of the file selected and on the pop-up menu select "copy". Now go to the folder on the external drive and right click the mouse again and from the pop-up menu select "paste". This will just copy the file, that way you can keep the files on 2 different hard drives in case something happen to 1 of them. Austin

Memorex Ultra Traveldrive - 160GB USB Hard Drive
There are programs specifically designed to do that. I can't give you specifics but just do a quick google and you should find it. Also, if those don't work, you should bring it to a data recovery service center which they will do it for you. It really depends on the severity of corruption
