no country told. no year car told no W code told w201 up. by year, did not scan the OBD2 port yet? see errors>? made 1993 to now nobody can guess cars, you just tell firts what it is. the car needs service, (CEL /SED lamp glows ) means that. so get it serviced or learn to do that and buy the service manual to learn. tests. tick over = idling. sure. my guess it needs fuel and filters. (they are clogged) 2.0L diesel engine it is. it needs to be scanned for sure. a very expensive car!, so never serviced it?

post all things that fail and work both all maters engine starts , runs , drives ok ,day or night? all other electrical things on the car ,as in ALL do in fact work correctly? or just the RADIO on the car fails. many cars now the RADIO is part of the CAN , the car Area Network. and if that fails so does the RADIO. if is in fact a factory RADIO there from MB. what to do. well check all fuses first. never skip the easy first step and a 50cent cure.. next scan the USA? OBD2 scan port, and look for Radio errors like COMM failures codes. can I assume this RADIO is not SDAR , satelite radio if is did you path the subscription bills? $$$$$$ or the RD is base Radio and both are in fact CAN bus controlled so yes, it must be scanned first, after fuses sorry this is no simple 80s radio, not at all and is antitheft protected too. i request this post be moved to cars and not computers. here is more than 1 fuse, the RD shows 2, F1 and F2 my online docs, are not so good, on all MB. get the car scanned in any shop. see the DTC error codes. next.

You could try connecting a battery charger to the generator's output terminal since the battery is connected directly to it. Be extra careful not to short that connection to ground (chassis of the vehicle)! After the battery has been charged enough, use your remote or the button for unlocking the trunk. You may also look up for a large positive terminal in the engine compartment and connect the charger there. Good lick and post the results here.

You will need a compatible with Mercedes OBDII code reader to scan the car for any error codes. If you can afford it, purchase one and it will pay off for itself after couple uses since dealer's diagnostic charge is $150-$200 in US. Or you could go to official Mercedes shop and they will reset it for you.
