Microsoft XP - Recent Questions, Troubleshooting & Support

Because the region from where you're browsing or setup your google location or using proxy/vpn then your browser has kept the cookies of that region and for particular thing or what you're searching about and then showing you results from that region/location. So if you're tired of that then i would suggest you to clear your cookies from browser settings. Still if it doesn't work then try to change your ip address and then try (this will work definitely but this is 2nd option) :)
here is the solution for the second option www.purevpn.com/blog/change-ip-address-android-devices/
but try implementing first option of clearing cookies.

If you are looking to play DVD files i.e. VOB files then you can play it using VLC player.

Follow the below link to download VLC player.

www.videolan.org

VLC player plays almost every file format and it does not needs any extra codec to run the files.

New DVD-ROM drives come with a firmware level RPC-2 with hardware protection. RPC 2 drives have a 5 change limit on regions, once the counter gets to 0 your drive is permanently locked to the last region it was set to. Even if you reformat or move the drive to another system it will still be locked to the last region. There are ways to get around it, some models have resetting tools made by 3rd parties to reset the change limit back to 5 and some also have firmware patches to remove the region lock.

The first solution is free VideoLAN player: click here to download VideoLAN.

The second solution is free Remote Selector tool: click here to download Remote Selector. Launch remselec22.exe file. Click Control tab. Choose Enabled, and check all options Region Free, Disable Macrovision, Disable User Prohibition Click Start Player button, and try to play your DVD

Finally Load another firmware for your DVD drive which disables the region code protection.

Hi,
Thanks for asking for solution,I would require some additional info.
1. Does windows media player give you an error while playing the file ?
2. Is the problem only in windows media player ? eg, are you getting windows startup sound.

In the meantime try system restore , take the computer back to the date when it was working fine.

ps: do let me know the make of the sound card and which windows operating system you are using

Thanks
mandeep

Your pc is infected with viruses and tehre were already some missing files with your Operating System and needs to be reformatted. Refer it to qualified technician...

if you have the installation soiftware CD's (which come with your PC when you bought it) you can do it, just follow the step by step prompt on the windows screen.
the chronological steps should be:
1. install the OS
2. install the motherboard drivers (VGA, sound, LAN, USB, atc)
3. install modem drivers.

NOTE: make sure to back up your files before doing all those things...

Good Luck...

Make sure you download the music format is supported by windows media player.( windows media player requires formats are supported to play)
If not, you need to get the converter to change the format of music that you download.

Thank you.
Hopefully this can help.
