Restoring .pst files in outlook
The simple way to restore .pst files in outlook is
Choose File-> Import and Export…
Choose Export to a file
Choose Personal Folder File (.pst)
Select the Inbox and press Next (we do the Contacts folder later)
Set the file location to D:\My Documents\My Outlook\Backup\export.pst
Press Finish and you’ll be prompted to set properties for the export.pst file
In the Name field type a descriptive name like "Export June 2004" (yeah, I wrote this guide a long time ago but don’t worry; I still keep it up to date!)
Press OK to start the export
To export the Contacts folder as well repeat step 1 to 4 and this time select the Contacts folder
If the save location is not set to the path you’ve set in step 5 browse to it
Press Finish to export the Contact folder
Close Outlook and copy the exported file to your safe location as described in Backup pst-file

My xp shows a device10 notification window on most
Device 10 notification likely a printer related issue. Lots of odd things can happen when HP cartridges are empty. With some HP printers, they will not run with one etimpty cartridge. There is a work around in that instance. You can "fool" an HP into thinking the cartridge is full. Of course, you would want your HP to be set to use only the black ink, for otherwise, it might try to mix a batch of black ink using other colors (and your other tank would be empty!) Now, if you are not of a mind to buy the color cartridge, you can explore the trick of fooling the HP. There is a chance that this would eliminate your device 10 notification, simply because you tell me nothing else is different. No promises, but I would have to try it. Now, just what other effect the trick might have over time is a caution. Nothing is cleaning those other nozzels. At least your HP is still working as is.

HAL.DLL is missing or corrupted, xp doesn't boot
If you can enter safe mode, run the command prompt as administrator. Enter the command: sfc /scan now
Then hit enter. It should replace missing files or repair corrupt files. It is a lengthy scanning of every file on the computer. Chkdsk would NOT replace a missing file.
.If you can not boot XP, change the boot setup to boot a CD/DVD at startup by entering the BIOS before windows pops up with a loading screen (rather than the hard drive) and have it boot a CD/DVD or USB that you have burned/installed Reimage upon. That is a commercial product. Check it out at MajorGeeks or its own website. Alternatively, take a look at method 3 on this page: http://www.wikihow.com/Make-a-USB-Bootable
