MS surface will not turn on

1. Assume battery has sufficient charge 2. Assume no physical damage to unit, liquid, dropping etc 3. When turned 'on' can an updated OS be installed? 4. Any other faults or problems noticed? 5. Remove all peripherals and reboot 6. Go to this link: www.microsoft.com/surface/en-gb/support/warranty-service-and-recovery/surface-wont-turn-on Good luck.

Software repair wizard

Write down all passwords you remember to have used lately and try them one by one. If that does not help, you only can reset the tablet and reinstall everything from scratch. You will lose all the data and all apps already installed. This time write down the password and keep it somewhere safe. (a place you don't forget)

How do i get my RT to boot

Here are the steps to go back I factory setup. It will remove everything personal you have on the Surface - photos, docs, etc. They will still be in the Share drive if you utilized it for storage.
  1. Restart the device made for Surface.
  2. Press F8 during the initial BIOS post to bring up the Advanced Boot Options screen.
  3. On the Advanced boot options screen, use the arrow keys to highlight Repair your computer, and then press Enter.
  4. Select a keyboard layout, and then click Next.
  5. Type the user name and password of an administrator, and then click OK.
  6. Under System Recovery Options, select Reinstall Windows. This option will restore Surface to the factory image, and any customized user information will be lost.
  7. When the restoration of the factory image is complete, the device made for Surface will restart, and the setup process will begin. This process is identical to the first time you set up Surface; you will be guided by a series of prompts and dialog boxes.
One more note - if you deleted the restore folder to save drive space this will not work. You'll need to take to tech support. Good luck.

My I pad air won't start up after charge

double check to make sure your plug is in the wall outlet, and that you don't have a controlling wall switch off. this happens a lot in the car too, my charger has to be rotated to get the cigarette lighter connection just right.

I have the Surface 2 and have encountered two big issues. One is that they don't have any apps I want besides basic Windows ones and two is that the form of the tablet always gets changed around when

Check your manual or search on Microsoft forum to see how you can stop the change. Unfortunately with the apps, this is dependant on Microsoft releasing software/apps that work on the tablet.

Is there a way I can get my surface 2 to recognise the ANT pen drive for my Garmin Vivofit.

I assume it's not a surface PRO 2 but just a regular Surface 2. The surface 2 runs Windows RT which only runs specials apps designed for it. It can't run software that is made for regular Windows computers. Unless garmin creates specific software for Windows RT I'm afraid that it might never work. You can attempt the software found here: http://download.garmin.com/omt/express/B/GarminExpressInstaller.exe but I doubt it works. What you're trying to do it akin to runnign iPad apps on a Mac, it doesn't work before the architecture is different.

How do i delete photos/videos from the windows surface tablet rt

To delete a photo, go to your Pictures Library. Find the photos you want to delete. Then, just lightly touch the photo and swipe your finger down a little. This will select that photo, you will see a check in the upper right corner of the photo if you did it right. You can continue to select as many photos you want in this way. You will see the option to Delete at the bottom of the screen as soon as you select the first photo. To deselect the photo, just swipe it down again. To delete a video, go to the Videos folder located on your Desktop and open it up. You can then select each video like you did for the photos. To unselect it, just touch the check mark which is on the top left corner. When you have finished selecting all the videos you want to delete, just click on the big red X on the top toolbar. One note though - my directions are based on Windows 8.1, so make sure you have installed all your updates. Hope this helps! John

Will not turn on. Battery is fully charged. I will try to take the batery out, but can't find it.

You can't take the battery out easily, very difficult and it involves a heat gun and prying tools. Try plugging it into AC charger, and then hold the power button down for10 seconds, then release and press button normally to turn on. Good luck.
