I experienced the lens error message after taken the camera to the beach. Sure enough, there was sand all over the lens mechanism. First, I cleaned the area by blowing air to remove all sand particles (this took me almost a day). In my case, I did not have to remove the lens from the body of the camera. Once clean from dirt, sand or any other foreign object replace the batteries.

Foreign body of some kind (grit, sand, hair etc) has entered the lens extension / retraction gearing. Probably not worth cost of repair.

You might want to take it to a service station and get it serviced.

you have to make sure the movie format is compatible by Windows Media Player.
Just get this tool to help you.

When you arder electronic devices for weights or measurements, first you must know exactly what you are looking at, make, model, and series,,, then read all of the reviews you can,, then go to a pro store-- (like our shop we are a pro archery shop) we refuse to work on peoples bows they bring in that they bought online, because half the time they recieved something that they did not order, they dont look like they did in the picture that the seller posted... always read reviews and ask the professionals.... I would return the item even if it was an auction, if you cant return it then ebay it-- but be honest when you post descriptions of the item, and the problems that you may be experiencing, trust me the buyers will appreciate it...

In most cases you can DOWNLOAD a manual when you go to Nikonusa dot com. Search for EXACT model of camera and DOWNLOAD the Manual. It is in PDF form. I like PDF manuals because you can SEARCH for items you need help on fast.

The memory card many NOT be compatible, damaged or not really empty. I cannot tell from here.

GPS does not work everywhere. You need clear, unobstructed view of sky. Indoors heavily wooded areas can render GPS useless.

Some Modes, Like FIREWORK will not allow Flash. Check your MODE

I am NOT an expert on this problem as I have never changed languages. Language is typically in the TOOLS menu (Wrench) It you get to settings and English is greyed out then I am stuck. If you have many settings you want to keep please ignore what I say here. One workaround that MAY work is reset to factory settings. It could be one of your settings that keeps language setting greyed out. A reset makes the camera like you just purchased it new.

On many cameras, a lens error means the lens is not set to is highest f/stop such as f/16 f/22 and the like. The lens must be put in that mode for the camera so that the camera electronics can auto set the f/stop as needed. First thing I would do is look at the f/stop on lens with manual f/stop settings; such as the Nikon 50mm f/1.8D making sure it is set to the highest f/ number (smallest opening). Remove the lens check the dial. Also, is the battery fully charged? If all that is okay then do the following couple of things; 1. Get yourself a film change bag, they look like a black plastic/rubberish T-shirt. Put the camera in there make sure the bottom is fully closed, put your arms through the sleeves, they have elastic keeping light out. Open the camera carefully remove the film canister then using your fingers rewind the film back into the canister. 2. Okay, you do not have access to a film change bag, easy get a thick blanket or two, go in to a closet, close the door, put a towel at the bottom, cover your camera as best as you can then do the same as if you were using a change bag. Important, make sure you are in a completely dark place without ANY LIGHT working its way through to you. Next, being as your are using film, big congratulations for that, purchase a change bag from Adorama, Amazon, B&HPhoto. Every film shooter should have one. Hope the above helps you.

Whatever button you used to select the ‘date stamp’ option, on most digital cameras, it’s usually a second button to ‘select’ whether you want it on or off.

I had an issue where the camera would not turn on and if it did, then it would be rarely at all. I attempted to replace the batteries, removing memory card, cleaning for sand and dust, and practically everything that has been recommended online. I was able to fix the issue by holding the preview pictures button (I don’t know the actual name of it but it looks like a rectangle with a play button in the middle) which turned the camera on to view the pictures. Then, I went into menu > clicked over to go to settings > and went down until I found “reset all.” Afterwards, I tapped the button that takes the picture and all the sudden it was good as new. It will turn on and off as it did before the issue arose. I don’t know if I just got lucky or this will work for others, but I wanted to share.

If this is possible, which I doubt, instructions will be found in the manual which accompanied the camera upon purchase.

Go to Nikon.com and search for your camera and then look for Memory cards that are compatible

Please make sure that no cables are plugged in. Many camera when this is done it goes into a remote mode and the screen shuts down.
