I have picture but no sound on my olevia 227 s11

Let verify first to narrow down to where the problem can be. First, make sure the MUTE function is not activated, then check the on screen sound set up menu to make sure the speakers are not set to OFF. If the setting is OK, then attach the powered PC speakers to the Audio Line out RCA jacks (Red and White) to see if you can get the sound there, if you do, then the problem can be in the power amp circuits, if you do not get the sound at RCA jacks, then the problem can be in the sound processor circuit.

Nope, all sets NEED a remote control. Only basic functions from the set. Just buy a new remote SPECIFICALLY for that set

Olevia LT42HVi 1st time questioning My 15 year old TV have recently started flickering and screen is rolling. It started after it was left on for a long period of time. Longer than usual. When it’s been off for a while, it takes about 5 minutes before the flickering starts.

Could be something is cooking inside - literally. Components such as resistors, capacitors, etc. do not have an infinite life and some in a circuit tend to be more stressed than others and so begin to wear out before others; mostly their values change rather than failing - life would be easier if things just failed... The trouble is, when component values change it can change the semiconductor bias of several stages with the probable result one or more components including semiconductors begin to consume more current which results in heat. If more heat is produced than a device can dissipate the temperature will increase until it can't function properly. When the screen rolls it is because the frame oscillator is losing synchronisation with the signal. Whether this is directly or indirectly connected to the flickering it is impossible to say. There could be a chicken and egg situation...

Can an Olevia HD TV from 2005 accept a HD antenna? How do I change the settings to recognize the antenna source? Model 247FHD-T11

I am guessing but there is little difference between a normal antenna and one supposedly intended for HD reception. Successful tv performance when HD channels are selected from the line up of available channels is dependent on receiving a strong high quality signal and if you are located in the right place in relation to the transmitter, something like a wire coat hanger will be enough but the greater the distance and/or the more difficult the local geography the better designed and higher performance antenna will be required. Antenna manufacturers aren't embarrassed about making misleading marketing claims. To the best of my knowledge there is no physical difference between an ordinary tv antenna and a so-called HD antenna, the latter would be better designed, higher quality, higher performing and more expensive. Choosing the right antenna for your immediate area is difficult and it is best to take the guesswork out by asking a reputable local antenna supplier and erector. The best quality coaxial cable will also be required. My tv doesn't have any means to select a type of aerial - a HD picture is displayed when a HD channel is selected. If your tv has such a selector it will undoubtedly be found in the menus...

Bauhn 32" TV! red light is on, The remote is flat & I can not start using standby button.

Check the Batteries inside of the remote control for your TV to see if they needs to be replaced and put new batteries inside of the TV remote and see if it will work after having new batteries. If the remote is still not working with new batteries then the remote is broken and needs to be replaced with a new remote from your TV company. The TV name of brand should have an official company website and you could try and take a look for replacement remotes. Low battery power can cause the remote to not work correctly or not work at all. Lift the back cover up and away from the remote. Remove and re-insert the 2 batteries. Replace the back cover on the remote, and slide down to click it back into place. Pour a little bit of rubbing alcohol onto a piece of cotton and very gently clean the main board. You will be surprised to see how much dirt is built up on the main board. Now take all the other parts or pieces of your remote control and give them a good gentle wash using a tiny bit of mild soap. Wash all the plastics and also the rubber keypad.

My Olevia 527S11 LCD tv is not showing pictures and sound i noticeed one of the capacitor is bad ,how can i replace or trouble shoot.

if the cap is domed, the top is bursting upward, read the value on the side, might be something like 1000uF, 50V ,buy a part online, try to get one rated at 105 C, then you have to remove the board and solder the new part in. or write down the part number of the board, and model number, to buy the entire board online

Olevia 242 S11, began having sound issues; first turned on pic with no sound. Cycle 2-3 times sound would return. Now it would not turn on. Would have to unplug power for 5 min. HELP

That sounds very much like a failed electrolytic capacitor in the power supply board. It's easy to spot; the top of the capacitor is bulged up and may be leaking material. Usually, there is more than one bad capacitor. See the attached photo - two of the three capacitors shown are bad. https://s17-us2.ixquick.com/cgi-bin/serveimage? To get replacements, you need the following information: Capacitance, printed on the capacitor label (e. g., 2200 uF where the u is actually the Greek letter mu and stands for micro-; this would mean 2200 microFarads), Maximum Voltage, printed on the capacitor. The replacement may have a higher voltage rating, but not lower. Maximum temperature, printed on the capacitor. The replacement may have a higher temperature rating, but not lower. Diameter of the capacitor in millimeters. The replacement may have a smaller diameter, but smaller diameter capacitors may not meet ripple current or endurance specs (described later). There may not be enough space on the board at that location for larger diameters. Length of capacitor in millimeters. If it is too long, you won't be able to fit the cover back on without damaging something. Endurance: at least 6000 hours at maximum temperature. For 10 mm diameter capacitors or larger, you should be able to find 10,000 hour parts. Ripple current: You want the maximum ripple current rating available consistent with the other specs, otherwise the new capacitor may burn out prematurely. Higher voltage capacitors often have a greater ripple current rating, and physically larger capacitors likewise. I have had excellent result with Panasonic FR series capacitors. They are much better than the Chinese off-brands usually installed in LCD TVs. When you install the replacement capacitor, make sure the polarity band goes in the same way as the original (the board is probably marked to show which way), and use lead-free electronic solder with an iron that gets hot enough for it. There are static-sensitive parts on the power supply board. Do not touch the circuit conductors with your fingers; handle the board by the edges only. Do not place the board with the wiring side down on any surface except an antistatic mat.
