On all Panasonic Toughbooks, any model pre-2008/2009 would have the older LCD screen with an "inverter". The new screens are called LED because there is no inverter. The inverter is like the "ballast" on a fluorescent tube lighting fixture. The tube could be good but if the ballast is blown then the tube will not "light-up". This is also true of the inverter. You can also tell when the inverter is about to burn-out when you first start your toughbook in the morning and the screen is initially "red" and then turns white after the unit warms-up for a few minutes. This is just a suggestion, but some Dell Computers use an AC adapter which sometimes power the computer but do NOT charge the battery pack. Simply trying another different power supply or AC Adapter will fix the problem without changing the voltage regulator. I hope this corrects your problems. On all Panasonic Toughbooks, I would suggest to physically remove the battery pack and unplug the unit. Then WITHOUT putting the battery back in, try to plug back in the Toughbook and turn on the unit. This is even a suggestion from Panasonic Technicians themselves. This process will "dissipate" any charge which may be preventing your Toughbook from turning on. I hope this works for you and Good Luck! If you have forgotten your bios password on your Panasonic Cf-51, there is no need to worry. There are a few simple steps that you can follow in order to reset the password and regain access to your computer. First, locate the RTCRST jumper on the motherboard. This is usually located near the CMOS battery. Once you have located the jumper, remove it and then replace it in the opposite position. This will reset the bios password. Next, locate the power button on the front of the computer. Once you have located the power button, press and hold it for a few seconds. This will reset the power to the computer and will also clear the bios password. I hope this helps!

If you can't even see the "Panasonic" message when the notebook boots up then you should contact manufacturer or notebook provider. These major problems should not be fixed by the user as the guarantee of the notebook can lapse when you open the case.

I wouldn't suggest buying such recovery CDs from 3rd parties when you have the option to get it from Original manufacturer. doesnt panasonic have a website with a support n drivers section? make sure ur sound driver is fully uninstalled and files n folders of old driver deleted then switch off and back on and let your os system find a new device..

Go to the top right hand side to get to the search function (magnifying glass). Fill in the search box with 'msconfig'. It should find msconfig.exe. click on this file and you have access to the boot menu amongst other functions.

That is the Hard Disk Drive.

Not too sure what your question is but you mention "Laptop sound card". I'm pretty sure that on your Panasonic Tough Book the sound circuit is integrated into the motherboard. The screen cable could be damaged around hinge area. Try to connect an external screen (PC monitor or TV screen) via VGA port to see if you get any image.
