PIONEER PD-V10G How do you get to track 12 would it be 10> 2 if so that is not working goes to track 1
I'm Mike,
Sounds to me like a reading problem, laser lens is dirty and probably clouded by condensation leaving particles of fine dust. You cannot use Cd-cleaner or liquid, must buff it using a Dremel tool. Cd-cleaners go across the lens and actually scratch lens!
Must use sponge like material Radio Shack had on the end of
their Q-tip type swabs for cleaning VCR-tape heads, NOT reg. Q-tips!. You can find that type material in soft sponges sold at auto stores for cars or Wall Mart. Some CD-players require this because they are designed differently! Lens material also
may have coating on it which interacts with liquids.
Do not use liquid! Take super glue and glue a piece of the
sponge on the end of Dremel Tool shaft, trim it so it is size of lens.
Dremel tool spins high RPM creating air that blows off particles before touching lens. Also, it creates a uniform buff because you are coming down above lens, not across it!
I've rebuilt several of these machines and I assure you this will
help get you closer to fixing it. Most of the problems not reading a disc are related to the problem I mentioned. You will also need to use a fine 30 Wt. oil on the rails so it moves freely! Does not take much, you can use a Q-tip for this!
CAUTION! do not press down on lens with any weight behind it, gradually lower sponge while spinning till it just touches lens!
(first step!)You will need to open a disc drawer(Unit On)to position lens so you can buff it. You might have to use your finger on little white gear (by the rails)to get lens out far enough! When positioning disc drawer to be out of the way, have one hand on electric cord to unplug in time so you have clear path to lens, disc drawer must be out of way!
Good Luck! From Mike ---(The Tech!)
