What does vacuum failure mean for a siltex autoclav?
It means it was unable to achieve sufficient vacuum to hit whatever set point you have it set for. It also probably means a) you have a leak in the chamber or b) the device creating the vacuum may be clogged or broken.

How do autoclaves work?
Autoclaves sterilize devices by subjecting them to high pressure saturated steam at 121 degrees Celsius (250 degrees F) for at least 15 minutes
