Usually means it has dead pixels or has been hit or dropped. Theres really no way to get rid of the line. Sorry for the bad news

Proscan is produced by ON Corp. They are a leading producer for most LCD screens used by a large group of TV makers. Proscan used to be a high end RCA product. The CEO of On Corp was the head of the Proscan division of RCA. After Leaving RCA and Beginning On Corp he purchased the right to the Proscan trade mark. Thus a new beginning for a old name. No this is whats called a dead pixel. Since it's white the transistor at that pixel area is shorted. Depending on the age of the unit the manufactor may replace the unit if not the whole panel will have to be replaced at a cost of more than the unit cost. Most manufactor says more then one pixel has to be bad before they will do anything.

IMPORTANT THE LABEL SIDE OF THE DVD MUST FACE THE BACK SIDE OF THE TELEVISION 1. Press the ‘INPUT’ button to select ‘DVD’ mode, if no disc is inserted yet, the display shows ‘No Disc’.
2.Insert a DVD with the printed side facing towards the rear of the TV/DVD Player (see below)
3.The TV will first display ‘Loading’, then change to ‘DVD-video’. Most DVDs will show some preliminary
information then stop at a main menu screen.
4. Press PLAY/PAUSE to play it directly. Or press the DVD-MENU button to access the disc menu during

You can only receive clear qam signal. If your cable company scrambles all available channels then you need decoder to receive cable tv

This could be a lot of things.. You did not post the model number of the television but you may have interference from other devices in the home and it the remote is not infrared then you may have stray radio waves causing problems.
