QSC ISA 280 Stereo Power Amp stopped working
This is a very precise questions as QSC amp are pretty rare and high end electronics equipment. There is no way getting an answer other than getting the amp at a sound shop for repair, wich might go for a visit at QSC anyway. From a sound shop repairman...
One chanel of my qsc
Suspect an overload in the main output devices on the heatsink for that channel. One or more of the devices is simply acting like it is a piece of wire. If they are transistors it will be easy to spot them with an ohmeter as it will be just like you have touch the test probes together on touching the terminals of each transistor. It will even do it in circuit, if the fault hasn't blown a hole in it first so you don't need tests. Remember the good channel is the same as the bad so tests on it's transistors etc will be the same as the bad till you find the faulty part! And if it has blown it up the part number is in the good channel so that's one good piece of news.
One channel blown
Unfortunately there is little we can do directly. The output transistors are likely to be shorted on the bad channel. This is not a DIY repair for most people. Expect a repair bill in the $80 range for parts.

I have a mx1500a qsc
Hi,
The best way is to make a new cable and connect the tip and sleeve.
Thats the best way to run your QSC, then you're using the balanced input.
But thats only working when the rest of the system is also balanced (snake etc).
Offcourse you can use your instrumentcable, but that is unbalanced and you will loose some gain.

Gerard
