can you give a little more info? is the screen coming on, the keyboard coming up, will it let you type anything, what kind of model is it?

That is usually a battery connection.

Hook it up to your pc, back up all your staff and send in for repairs or order new screen if you can put one on your self, if not when you get another you'll have your back up. Good luck

TAKE THE BATTERY OUT AND RESET IT.
