What direction do I turn the button to open the Rowenta Superpress 050? I have read that I need to push in the button but it was donated to me and I need to fill up the reservoir.

To open the Rowenta Superpress 050 iron, you should first unplug the iron from the power source for safety. Then, locate the water reservoir button on the top of the iron. The button is usually located near the back of the iron. To open the reservoir, you need to push the button inward and turn it counter-clockwise. This will release the reservoir from the iron's body, allowing you to fill it with water. After filling the reservoir with water, you can reattach it to the iron by aligning it with the body and turning the button clockwise until it clicks into place. Remember to never fill the reservoir above the maximum fill line, as this can cause the iron to leak water or even cause damage to the iron.

My iron will not turn on....what's wrong?

Hi,
Welcome to Fixya. If the iron wont turn on it can be caused by a faulty cable, a busted Fuse, transistor, capacitor, switch problem or the main board of system. If you have warranty then you can have it checked an repair for free or if you have knowledge with electronics then you can open the iron and check hte part that is bad
Thanks

How do you fix a seal on a Rowenta Iron?

To try and seal the water leak will possibly render the appliance dangerous. I would speak to Rowenta and ask the question. They may well extend the warranty if you suggest it wasn't used for say a few weeks after purchase etc.

Rowenta Steam Iron Leak

I have purchased two Rowenta irons. Both have the problem with water leakage. The entire iron looses all of it's water....both in the stand up position and the sitting down position. This happened after a couple of months for both items. I contacted Rowenta and they never responded. I will never purchase another item from them. Obviously, the irons must be defective. I'm going to contact consumer affairs.

What happens if I use CLR in my steam iron?

The steam tank may not be heating because of mineral deposits in the tank. But also do this check first. Open up the tank reservoir cold, and drain all water out, (is it clean inside there when you shine flashlight in there? Rinse with clear filtered water only (low minerals).

Do not use CLR or anything agressive in there. You should have the main unit in full steam mode and the iron control also in full steam mode. Leave one tablespoon of water in the tank, put back together and let the pressure build. Put a clean towel on your ironing board and when iron is at full pressure and heat, hit the burst of steam and look at what comes out of the sole plate. If you see lots of white deposits look at the sole plate and see if the white chunks are coming out steam holes.

When using iron, run it till steam/water tanks are dry, the burst of steam is used in this case to clean the iron of all standing water. Pull the reservoir and allow to cool...once tank is cool drain it as well. Doing this several times should help purge unit of the heavy mineral deposits.

My Rowenta valet steamer 1550W trips my electricity every time I plug it in.

RCD or MCB that is tripping? If MCB the iron is overloading the circuit, usually a short circuit and is often related to the power cord. If RCD power is escaping from the circuit to ground and is usually caused by an internal water leak.

My Rowenta iron will not heat up. The yellow light

Inside the iron is a piece of thermal metal the is supposed to make contact with a small ceramic pin with a metal cap on it. I think this was intended to be a safety device but they fail and the iron will not heat up. The part does not seem to be available so easiest way to fix is to put a small bead of glue on the housing that forces this to make contact.

Why is my linen dress shiny after ironing at the linen setting?

The fine fibres at the surface of linen stand up like the bristles on a brush. Light coming into the fibres gets trapped. When you iron the linen, you flatten the fine fibres. Incoming light no longer gets trapped in the spaces between the fibres and instead is reflected (bounced back) like on a mirror. That is why linen looks shiny after ironing. To prevent this, use a damp cloth on top of your linen when ironing. This will flatten (iron) the linen material but not compress the fine fibres. Good look.
