Just wanted to post and say THANK YOU GRIMLAC. That worked perfectly. I already had the driver and bitpim installed but assumed that it wouldn't work because all the options were greyed out and I couldn't get it to see the u340 as another specific model (rather than "Other"). Accessing the filesystem however, allowed me to get 29 pictures off of my phone that I've never seen outside the 2" screen. Thank you so much!

Any good phone service guy will either be able to fix that, or to explain why it can't be fixed. How many phone service guys are there in your town, please?

Remove the battery then wait 45 sec.put it back. Turn on again. Save your files to a laptop quickly. Do a reset factory. Reinstall.

Check and make sure the charger is working, both the cord and the connector. You can either use a different charger to see if your phone charges, and/or charge another device with the charger/cord. If you can't be sure, it's an inexpensive fix to either buy a new charger/cord. If both are working well on other devices, check the website of the phone manufacturer.

To Enter/Exit Silent Mode
Silence the tones your keypad makes when you press a key.
• In standby mode, press and hold # key. Entering Silent Mode briefly appears in the display and your phone returns to standby mode.

This sounds like an interesting situation and could potentially be because of the build style of your home or interference within it. If possible, try turning off the main breaker to your house and see if the issue persists.
