Your best bet is Ebay.

Could be a defective hard drive. Another option is to download a "live CD" version of linux and attempt to run the system from that to verify if the hard drive is good. If the hard drive is good then do a low level format and then re-attempt your XP install.

Start the computer and press ESC, F1, F2, F8 or F10 during the initial startup screen. Not all of them at once. Only one. The hot key varies from model to model. There will be a brief message on the first screen you see when the computer is starting up telling you which button to push for "system setup". If unsure boot the computer and watch closely and note the button to push. Then hold down the power button until the computer restarts and be ready to hit that hot key.

Choose to enter BIOS setup.

Use the arrow keys to select the BOOT tab.

Find your preferred, always boot to first disk, and give it priority,,,( move it to the first position in the list) and then hit F10 save and continue. Your computer should reboot to the drive you selected.

There is no need of battery when your laptop is on ac power so check if there is an other problem take it to nearest workshop

you will have to take out your screen and check its all dry,pluse your keypad and make sure thats dry,and if that dont work you may have to take it to a shop.

try f1..or.f2..or f12 f10.

The only issue i can see is if your your ram has not been updated since leaving the factory, you will notice from the tables W7 requires a min of 1GIG and your machine leaves the factory with 256mb(dependant on country possible) so check your ram. I run windows 7 on 2GB and its great, your machine will take 2GB. The Samsung X05 was released 2004 and the NVIDIA Geforce 4 should be fine. i would point out drivers and compatability but windows 7 so far is really good but driver support is crucial

it meant backup when you buyed a new laptop it backup all OS,SW and stored in different partition,OEM supplied recovery media is commonly shipped with most computers to allow the user to reformat the hard drive and reinstall the operating system and pre-loaded software

If you can't get one from samsung.com (Support section) then it won't be free. If you can't download it, then they'll either charge you or you will have to find an OS disc matching what you have and after running the install, punch in the product key on the bottom of the laptop for the OS, or purchase a new copy of Windows.

Remove the CMOS battery for 30 seconds and put it back in. This helps clear the BIOS password.
