If you did not drop the camera or nothing is damaged on the outside I can't explain. Did you try to remove the battery for a few moments? this should restart the system. But it the error keeps coming back, check if the navigation dial does not function strange, while in playback mode. Please make sure you don't touch any button or dial, while shooting a picture. If the problem keeps coming back, please visit your dealer or a certified Samsung service centre.

Low Battery, or exhausted ones, also gaves error 00, due to inability to provide high power to the lens.

Did you buy and insert a memory card? Is the memory card unlocked? The internal memory is very small and not fit to shoot your pictures. If you did put in a new memory card, please goto the setup menu and format the card.

The part number is AD97-17740A (ASSY-RUBBER EP CAP;N) but a web search will bring back very few hits. As of late 2012, PartStore.com (in the states) could order the part (listed a "Special Order").

www.flex-007.com offers a replacement for nx 18-55 for $20. It'll take 10 minutes to replace though;)
