Take out the back panel and smell to trace what part is burned. Then check the high voltage circuit near the 120 volts. After the transformer, should be 380 volts AC. After the ratifiers, should be 390 volts DC - by checking at the capacitor as Samsung uses 100 uf at 450 volts. If not, change the capacitor to a higher rating like 350 uf at 400 to 450 volts.

Those blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Hi, Unfortunately capacitors have been projected as a cure to all possible problems in an LCD tv by some you tube experts. The actual problem may lie in the power board or the main board. An expert is needed to check and find the actual culprit.

sounds like you have it set correctly..do you have any other sources than external,(such as audio out) ?If so that should solve your problem...does the system have any other connection outs, such as red white audio cables (LR audio )? You can use them as external when the optical is unplugged...if you get sound you either have a bad optical cord or the output for it is defective..good luck GOD BLESS
