No heat in dryer mode

In electric dryers, heat is generated by the heating element. The element is a coil of heating wire enclosed in a metal chamber. Electric current flowing through the coil creates heat and the air being pulled through the chamber absorbs this heat. If the element is defective then it will not heat. It can be tested with a multi-meter for continuity. Unplug the dryer and remove the front or rear panel to locate the element so it can be tested. The high limit thermostat is a safety device mounted on the heating chamber and is designed to prevent the dryer from overheating when the exhaust vent is restricted. A restricted vent will cause the high limit thermostat to trip or activate, interrupting the circuit to the heating element or gas valve. The high limit thermostat is not designed to activate repeatedly like a cycling thermostat and will eventually fail causing a no heat symptom. Disconnect the power to the dryer and check the thermostat for continuity with a multi-meter. If there is no continuity then it will need to be replaced and the restricted vent system corrected as well. Cycling thermostats control the temperature inside the dryer drum. They are designed to "cycle" the heating element on and off to maintain the correct amount of heat. Cycling thermostats are normally located on the blower housing or elsewhere in the internal airflow ducting. Over time, the cycling thermostat can become defective. Disconnect the power to the dryer and check the thermostat for continuity with a multi-meter.

Fabric softener well

Is there any chance you could fit a small towel or sponge inside? You could drain the water out rather than take it apart

Splendide 2100 no longer dries clothes

We had the same problem with our splendide 2100 top loader. If you remove the top cover, you will find 2 circular like black discs (the size of a dime) on the right hand side about 6 inches from the front. You need to push those down (with a very small blunt object) to reset them. Please make sure that you unplug your washer/dryer before you attempt this. Good luck.

How to unlock washer door with wet clothes inside

Pl ensure that the wash cycle is completed. Alternately pump out all the water using rinse mode. When this is done you can switch off the power to the washing mavhine, close the tap for water inlet. Then you should be able to open the door of the washing machine. Hope this works.

Unit is dead after experiencing "open neutral" situation at campground.

Just went through the same problem. After removing back cover I noticed surge protecter had some burn marks. I called Westland Sales ordered a new one (about $70). Still didnt fix but it was toast. Investigated further & noticed module board had obvious burn marks. Called Westland again fearing it would be cheaper to replace but board was about $350. For a total of around $450 its good as new. Only basic tools & knowledge required. Phillips screwdriver, 1/2" wrench & a small allen wrench (5/32") if I remeber correctly. I found it easier to replace parts with machine face down & removed bottom cover. Labor time for me was about 20 mins including removing parts & both covers.

Noise dry cycle

It is so common that the washing machine can make terrible noise in many ways and is a common fault. In all occasions it is important that your observation is most important and so is vital to the identification /rectification and solution. If you have noticed that machine is vibrating when it is running then the motor /drum suspension has to be inspected. Since these fittings are located on the underside of the machine it is important that you look for the noise with a good inspection lamp. Manually turn the motor and drum and listen for the noise, if so the motor bearings, the drum agitator shaft and fittings must be checked. Also the suspensions which include the shock absorbers and springs, the body clamps must be checked to be in correct alignment and not changed in position. Tightening of the mounting is also very important. Finally in most cases a drop of OIL or smear of grease on the moving parts cane solve most issues.

Plugged into bad electric, Washer/dryer combo does not power on now

if your appliances all blew they may have been fuse protected, such as tv's and microwave have inside them. Power converter should be fuse protected as well. If the plug was wired incorrectly was it a fifty amp service or thirty? Does your power run threw a transfer switch? look there as well. typically voltage spikes threw ground circuits take out your electronics. Using ground fault interruption circuits and voltage protectors in between your plug and power supply will prevent most/some damage. many variables to pinpoint without input.

Will not dry

Possible that the speed of the motor has reduced, check the drive, check for a sticky spindle that had friction to reduce speed, check bearings and belts.
