Toro CCR 2450 Snowblower has new plug & gas but will only start with added starter fluid then will run until trying to start again.

Question edited for clarity. When you put it away at the end of last snow season, I expect you just rolled it to the corner of the garage and left it until now? The two stroke gas in the carburetor, went bad and gummy. It starts on starter fluid because no gas is coming from the carb. https://www.google.com/search?q=toro+ccr+2450+carburetor+cleaning ..

My Toro 20332 started to squeal at the end of last season when I engaged the self-propel. I replaced the drive belt last week, thinking it was loose and worn, now it really squeals. Any thoughts?

The belt is slipping and that causes the squeal. If it squeals with a new belt, it is indicative that something is not turning freely, causing the belt to slip.

We have a Toro Powervac that will not start. Vac has a new carburetor, new engine coil, new fuel lines, new spark plug and still will not start. Any suggestions?

did you make sure it has spark. i have learned over the years because an electronic is new doesn't mean its good? If it has spark remove the plug and put a bit of gas in the hole and re install plug see if it will fire on that gas. if it does its the carb something is probably blocking fuel. check the compression if its low compression it will not run. if u dont have a compression checker just remove the plug stick your finger tight over the plug hole and pull it over it should blow your finger off the hole.

Hi, I would like to know what is the typical compression value of a Kohler 16HP singel cylinder engine?

Yes, decompression lowers cylinder pressure during low rpm while cranking. If you're concerned with compression, you need to do a leakdown test. Inexpensive (~$30) units are available through numerous eVendors. The leakdown test provides a metered volume of air that is translated and displayed on a pressure gauge simply labeled high (excessive leakage), moderate, or low (nominal leakage).

It's an L-head engine and once they get a few hundred hours run time, the valves wear into the hard seat, lash goes to zero, and they become hard to start. You can check valve lash by removing the crankcase breather (two screws). If lash is near zero, time for a valve job. Plenty of how to videos on the web. If it's easy start, just low power then less likely a valve lash issue.

There are many things that cause low power. Bad fuel, water in fuel (fuel bowl), fouled carburetor, poor spark, fouled plug, improper plug gap, wrong plug, weak ignition module.

Toro riding mower stopped moving

If you have no forward, no reverse but the motor is still running normally the most likely reason for this is the main drive belt. This connects the motor to the transmission. If it stretches, breaks or drops off the drive pulleys you will lose all movement.

Why does my Toro Titan HD 2000 series 74467 blow a fuse every time I engage The blade?

My thought is the seat safety switch is faulty, because normally these mowers won't work unless someone is sitting in the seat when if goes into the blade drive. There are other ideas in the videos. Frayed wires in the harness somewhere?

Adjusting toro 360 quad steer

If you are having trouble getting both front and back wheels of your Toro 360 Quad Steer to line up straight, there are a few things you can try:

1. Check tire pressure: Uneven tire pressure can cause your wheels to misalign. Make sure the tire pressure is the same on all four wheels.
2. Check alignment bolts: The Toro 360 Quad Steer has alignment bolts that allow you to adjust the alignment of the wheels. Check to make sure the bolts are not loose and adjust them if necessary.
3. Check steering linkage: The steering linkage may be worn or damaged, causing the wheels to misalign. Inspect the steering linkage for any signs of wear or damage, and replace any worn or damaged parts.
4. Check for bent parts: The wheels may be misaligned due to bent parts, such as the tie rods or axle. Inspect these parts for any signs of bending or damage, and replace them if necessary.
5. Seek professional help: If you are unable to adjust the alignment yourself, it may be best to seek the help of a professional mechanic or service technician who has experience working with Toro 360 Quad Steer equipment.

Trying to fix steering on a toro 360 quad steer, cant get it to track strait from front to back wheels.

If you're having trouble getting the Toro 360 quad steer to track straight from front to back wheels, there are a few potential issues that could be causing the problem:

- Wheel alignment: If the front and back wheels are not properly aligned, this can cause the steering to be off. Make sure to check the alignment of both the front and back wheels, and adjust them as necessary.
- Tire pressure: Uneven tire pressure can also cause the steering to be off. Make sure all tires are inflated to the recommended pressure.
- Steering linkage: Check the steering linkage for any signs of wear or damage. Replace any worn or damaged parts as necessary.
- Steering gear: The steering gear may need to be adjusted or replaced if it is causing the steering to be off.
- Suspension: Issues with the suspension system can also affect the steering. Make sure to check the suspension for any damage or wear, and replace any damaged parts.

If you're still having trouble getting the Toro 360 quad steer to track straight, it may be a good idea to take it to a professional mechanic for further inspection and proper fixing.

I have an electric Toro 1500 Power Curve snow blower and it makes a high pitch squeal when I turn on the blower. Possible bearing issue?

Yes, a high-pitched squeal coming from your electric snow blower when you turn on the blower could indicate a bearing issue. The blower motor is typically equipped with bearings to reduce friction and allow the motor to run smoothly. Over time, these bearings can wear out or become damaged, resulting in a squealing or grinding noise. If you suspect a bearing issue, it's important to have your snow blower inspected and repaired by a qualified technician or service center. Attempting to repair the snow blower on your own could be dangerous and may cause further damage to the machine.

How to replace trimmer line

1. Remove the cap on the trimmer head, it unscrews.

2. The spool comes off, and on the inside of the spool there is a small hole, this is where you will start your trimmer line. It it will hold it in place while you wrap it. There is also arrows on the spool showing the direction that you need to wrap your spool.

3. Insert the line in the hole and start to wrap the line in the directions of the arrows, try to keep the line in rows, or else the line may bind and you will have to do it all over again.

4. Feed the line through the retainer and reinstall the spool by lining up the retainer and the slot on the outside portion on the trimmer head, the screw back on the trimmer head and you will be ready to trim.

52 toro Z Master 2000 series won't start

There could be a few different reasons why your Toro Z Master 2000 series lawn mower won't start. Here are some things to check:
  1. Fuel: Make sure that the gas tank is full and that the fuel is fresh. If the fuel is stale or contaminated, it may not be able to properly power the engine.
  2. Spark plug: Check the spark plug to make sure it is clean and in good condition. A dirty or faulty spark plug can prevent the engine from starting.
  3. Air filter: A dirty air filter can restrict the flow of air to the engine, causing it to run poorly or not start at all. Check the air filter and clean or replace it if necessary.
  4. Battery: If the battery is dead or not fully charged, the engine may not start. Charge the battery or replace it if necessary.
  5. Ignition switch: Make sure the ignition switch is in the "on" position and that the safety switch is engaged.
If you have checked all of these things and the lawn mower still won't start, it may be a more serious issue that requires professional repair.

  2. Check the spool for any debris or foreign objects that may be causing the line to break.
  3. Check the line for any kinks or knots that may be causing it to break.
  4. Make sure the trimmer is properly calibrated and that the line feed mechanism is functioning properly.

Toro 51978 weed eater can't pull the cord?

It is a two stroke motor. Have you been running it at the recommended gas / oil mix? The pull cord should pull easily when unbolted from the trimmer engine. Remove the spark plug. Add a dessert spoon of light machine oil like 3 in One and let it sit overnight with the piston and cylinder perfectly upright. The next day, turn the crankshaft three full revolutions with a wrench. Tip out any excess oil and refit the spark plug and pull starter.
