Black screen after windows start.

It could be the drive failed, can you boot to BIOS at all? I'd recommend a USB Drive adapter, then pull the drive from the laptop, connect to the adapter and then plug into a working PC USB port (Be sure that PC has good/current antivirus and firewall software and it has been backed up itself). The disk should then come up and look like a regular flash drive. Recover the critical files, then back up onto something like a CD or DVD that is set aside for safe keeping. Now you can be a bit more adventurous - potentially the BIOS settings changed, or the on board battery is dead and needs changing (can be complicated). There are also bootable drive recovery utilities that you can spin onto a CD. But data recovery is always first.

I have tried all of the suggestions in the forum including a factory reset but my Toshiba Excite Tablet remains in safe mode. How do I remove the tablet back to normal mode?

Most likely it is dead. If you tried a real factory reset, then just look for another tablet. Toshiba is not going to help you as, from my experience, they do not care after they sell you the prodcut and it gets out of warranty. Consider Samsung.

Windows media player cannot play

If you are able to hear sound while starting PC issue is not with sound card. that is installed and working properly. If you are clicking on any file that is not playing then window media player is not supporting that file. If you are directly opening window media player from start>>Program>>access>>>>window player and it is giving error. It mean that your player is corrupted. You can upgrade that with higher version of player by going this link. www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/9series/player.aspx

How can i factory reset my toshiba tablet modle wt10-a

There should be a little hole somewhere on the tablet. Stick a pin in it then it should factory reset it. Or if you can, create a new user then go to settings and factory reset it from there.

Locled out, I forgot the password.

check you manual or with toshiba, but it is possible to get the bios reset you just need to have the right tools. It might be a disk or a setting in the bios itself.

System says Username and Password do not match when inputting yet they are accurate

To clarify - you are entering the username and password of the internet website from which you wish to purchase something. 1. Presumably you have previously registered with this site and have now forgotten the login details. 2. Click the 'Forgot my password' link - they will send you instructions to reset the password.

Tshiba Portage Crash

that sounds like a power problem to the mainbaord. I hope you backed up recently. See if you have any clogged fans with dust or bloated capacitors. You may need a new Power supply and mainboard. I would put the hard drive as a secondary in a new machine.

I have a toshiba tecra

Error codes are only of use by the Toshiba Technical staff and of no use to you as the consumer. If you report that to the Toshiba Technical personnel, they can transcribe the error number for you. If a blinking light comes on when charging, sometimes it indicates No Charge or the power cell inside the computer is not accepting a charge and will not function. You might replace the power battery if it has been in there for several years. They do tend to die after a while. As for the computer, it should operated without the battery. If it fails to boot when the power adapter is plugged in, then one of two issues are common. 1, the power adapter is faulty and needs replacement. 2. the computers CPU may be damaged by a power surge and that is bad news.

On my toshiba tablet,I forgot my pass word.how do I reset it?

Not sure about specifics on toshiba tablets, but wanted to suggest that on other tablets you can hold the up volume(sometimes others its volume down) and power button at sane time for about 10+seconds and a menu will pop up for a rebooting, safe mode, and factory restart(which erases and reboots from scratch) worth a shot.. Yet, be careful what you select if it works.. Don't want you to erase stuff if you don't want to.... And btw most tablets have a little pin size hole either under the camera lense or on side that something like a paper clip can push a reset button... But don't think that helps with password.. Just if it freezes up and won't shut down... Good luck.. Sorry if this doesn't help...

I have a screen problem. My

Toshiba is famous for overheating problems, blow out your cooling fan with canned air. Also another fairly common issue with the M4 is memory module seating, basically the memory modules/sticks werent put in properly by the factory...i know..go figure. Remove the memory panel from the back of the unit and remove the memory stick/s. Should be 2 of them, be gentle, and then just simply reinstall them back where they were making sure they are seated in the slots firmly, then replace the memory cover and fire it back up. This worked on 4 or 5 ive repaired with similar issues. Hope this helps you as well.
