The SE-R0295 remote was sold with select Toshiba DVD/VHS recorders, including the DVR620. The manual for the recorder will have the instructions for the remote. If not, try to clean DVD lens using lens cleaner. usually used DVDr will not play to DVD player.. try also to use new blank DVD

Parts like you're needing are nearly impossible to find. More than likely the same thing happened to yours as the one I have in my shop. Sometimes during power surges, spikes, and lightening strikes, things get damaged. I found in the 2 units I have worked on, one, it was as simple as a blown fuse, which if that is what happened to yours, it's an easy fix and should not cost more than $40 to repair. Or, if you're savvy on fixing things, about a $5 250V fuse is all you need and about 30 minutes time. In the case of the second DVR it had bypassed the fuse, and the fuse was fine, but wiped out the transformer on the power supply. In my case I can not find part 08046871041 which is just the transformer to repair the power supply, nor can I find part 08246871060 which is the complete power supply. Good luck search, if you get lucky and find one please let me know where I can find it at, I have also researched for replacement parts that would work with no luck.
