Uniden scanner bc145xl will not turn on. its plugged into a good power strip

Reset power button on power strip first turn off then on.If that don't work check and see if it is a switched outlet turn wall switches on in area.check and make sure cord is secured to scanner. Plug a lamp that is on in the strip this will help you when you are trying to turn switches on by yourself you can see it light up.

Only one unit of my Uniden walkie talkie model no 1038-2 works

Check programming. Channel and selective call must be the same on both radios. Check "mic" opening hole on the front case of the radio. The slightest bit of debris blocking this tiny hole can reduce transmitted audio to zero.

Suspect you live in a metropolitan area and your antenna is too good. You are experiencing RF overload into your scanner on certain bands. All I can suggest is some sort of band pass filters or a better scanner. Regards John
