It means "Personal Unblocking Code".Just has the names personal implies, it means it is a personal code that now one else should know except you. So if I know the code then it means it is no more personal.What I am trying to say is that the code can only be give to you by your service provider. Your service provider who are the manufacturers of the line you are using are the only ones that has the PUK code to your line.You can get to your service provider through phone by calling them. Calling your service provider should be toll free.Your service provider will ask you some questions concerning your line in order to confirm that you are the owner of the line before they give out the PUK code. When you enter your SIM PIN number wrong to many times you will need your PUK code. This is useful when your phone is stolen, because you can not loose any money due to call charges.

There are two ways to get your PUK number.
The first way you can get your PUK is to consult your documentation that came with your SIM Card. Somewhere your PUK will be given within the documentation.

The other way to get your PUK if you don't have your documentation or lost it, is to phone your mobile service provider. They will ask you a few details and then be able to give you the PUK code for the SIM card.
