You can tell if they are working by putting a screwdriver onto the pump and putting the handle against your ear. Try a power reset. Fully disconnect power to it for 15 minutes. Then try again. It does appear to be a known fault. Might be too late but check the wires connection is tight and any crimps are good. A bad/loose connection will cause heat and damage.

Question edited for clarity and add maker. If this is in normal operation, turn off the gas and water and call a gas registered engineer. If you are turning off the water because you are going on vacation, turn off both the water and the gas. It may be sensing water flow because the pressure has dropped.

Your issue will be on the input or mains supply side of your electrics. Check your wiring for keakage to earth.
