Black& Decker grasshog electric weedeater GH600.. 2007.Need advise removing the guard. No screw, but 3 springy tabs. I don't have 3 hands to move them at the same time
Removing the guard on your Black & Decker Grasshog electric weedeater GH600 can be tricky without three hands, but here's a method you can try:
1. Use a flathead screwdriver or a similar tool to depress one of the springy tabs while holding it down.
2. While holding the first tab down, use a second tool (another flathead screwdriver, a pair of pliers, etc.) to depress a second tab.
3. Once you have two tabs depressed, you should be able to use your free hand to push or pull the guard away from the trimmer.
4. If needed, use the same method to depress the third tab and completely remove the guard.
Alternatively, you might ask someone to assist you by holding down the tabs while you remove the guard. If you're still having trouble, refer to the user manual or contact Black & Decker customer support for further assistance.
My Hart 40V Electric weedeater won't start up with either charged battery
The first thing to check is the connections between the battery and your weedeater. Make sure that all connections are secure and there isn't any corrosion or dirt build up on the contacts. Additionally, you may want to try cleaning out the spark plug and checking for obstructions in the fuel tank or line. If these checks don't lead to a resolution, it may be worth contacting a service tech to further diagnose the issue.
Why is spark plug smell like it is burning
There can be a few reasons.
1. The seal on the spark plug is not sealing properly and the oil from the two stroke oil is leaking out and burning. If it is leaking from the centre of the plug, the ceramic core is broken. They are cheap enough to buy and easy to repair.
2. The cylinder head gasket is leaking a bit and burning oil off.
Make sure any filters on the fan(?) or the air filter are clean as it sounds like it might be overheating as well.

Bolens BL160 Weedeater. Why doesn't it start?
2-strokes can be difficult and seemingly temperamental, though there is usually a reason for that.
To start and run an engine needs...
Fresh fuel is important and the right amount being delivered into the cylinder.
Good compression.
A strong spark at the right time.
Basically, if there is a good spark and the spark plug is becoming wet there would seem to be all the ingredients and the engine should start.
Sometimes the plug quickly becoming wet is a sign the crankcase is flooded - in the old days some engines were fitted with a crankcase drain plug and removing it would allow a small amount of mainly oil would trickle out. Refitting it and fitting a dry spark plug would usually restore the engine to health, unfortunately modern engines don't have such a thing.
There is a reason why, mostly in small engines, a crankcase can become flooded - it is possible there is insufficient crankcase compression for a proper induction and to send each new charge to the combustion chamber.
This is usually noticed after standing idle for the winter - the engine was fine last season but difficult to start next season. The crankshaft seals can lose flexibility and air can be drawn through them instead of through the carb; with small engines a tiny loss of crankcase compression can have a large effect...

How do I adjust the carb on a FB25 weedeater blower??
These need to be adjusted using a Tachnometer however to get the unit started. Turn the "L" screw in until it lightly seats then back out 1 1/2 turn. Do the same for the "H" screw. This should get the unit running then it can be fine tuned.
