Whistler xtr 690 voice need to be fix
If your unit is under 3 years old, contact Whistler at
[email protected] for info on how to have warranty service performed. If its over 3 years old then you can call them at 800-531-0004 to order a speaker. This assumes that you tried a factory reset and that the auto quiet and City modes are off which basically leaves only the speaker as the possible problem.
Recently installed... "comm error" with
need to make sure that the radar antenna is plugged into the correct port on the display unit. Also make sure that the plugs are FULLY inserted, the water tightness of the plug can make it feel that its fully inserted but it may not be. For more info contact Whistler at 800-531-0004.
It dont work

[email protected] and let them know what doesn't work on your detector. Does it not power up? does it not pick up radar? does it not make any sound? does the lights not work?
It wont detect cops

I hav3e a Whistler 1765
There could
be few reasons for this.
1. There is
strong magnetic field near the radar detector. This could be even car speakers.
2. There is
power lines going above the place where you are trying to calibrate.
3. To
complete calibration you need to press both the volume control buttons while
the vehicle is parked.. The display will show "CAL MODE". Then slowly
drive at least 2 complete circles while in calibration mode. Then again press
both the volume control buttons for 2 seconds until it beeps and shows "
CAL DONE" in the display.

What model do you have as the 1665 you have listed uses LED's and can not provide text messages. Do you have a battery powered unit? if so, its possible the batteries need to be recharged.
I have a brand new

Whistler 1783 detector shuts as
Try the factory reset - hold in the power and quiet buttons, while holding in these buttons plug in the power cord. Unit should beep twice. The unit will get warm to the touch.

My XTR 550 picks up
Have you tried it in a different vehicle? Could be something electrical in your. If its ok in another vehicle contact whistler at
[email protected] for next steps.
What kind of power cord
First a Fuzzbuster is not a Whistler model. However it does use a standard power cord that is 12 volts and the center tip of the plug is positive.
How to set it to detec
There is nothing to set - simply plug it in and go. Its set from the factory ready to roll. What model is it that you have? Some models that have compass built-in and these models have the option to have it be in a compass only mode, which doesn't pick up radar. SOme models also allow you to turn radar bands on/off. Without knowing which model you have its hard to narrow the options.
XTR-590, powered up plugged in,
When the unit goes through its self test - make sure the display shows either RADAR or COMBO as if it just shows COMPASS, the radar section of the unit is turned off and its basically a compass unit.
It is possible that you ran across officers that didn't have their radar guns turned on.
