That model only picks up X , K and the photo radar portion of Ka band, It doens't pick up the full Ka radar guns out there plus it doesn't pick up laser.

H= Highway mode
C= City mode
P= Pulse or instant-on type radar.
The numbers indicate signal strength - higher the number the stronger the signal.

First try a factory reset - hold in the power button and the quiet button, while holding in these buttons plug in the power cord, THe unit will beep twice and show FACTORY RESET on the screen, then give it a test.

Since you have been into it, its best to trade it in for a new model. Contact whistler at [email protected] about the trade in program.

Does the unit turn on when you plug it into the lighter socket? If not, does the lighter socket power other 12 volt devices? IF the lighter socket works and the radar detector doesn't there is a fuse in the plug end of the power cord. Unscrew the tip to expose the fuse. Replace it with a 2 amp fuse from any auto parts store and try it again.

If you have a Whistler model H = Highway mode and F = Filtler mode (basically City mode). If you have a model that uses H and F then it is over 20 years old and does not Pick up Ka and Laser. Contact Whistler at [email protected] about trading in that model for a new one.

Model 1675 is not a battery powered unit so there is nothing to replace. What is the unit doing that made you think that batteries need replacing?

Email Whistler at [email protected] for info on that model. Do you think its the power cord or the jack in the unit itself?

Yes, that model still detects what is out there. The only thing that is doesn't pick up is the POP mode on some radar guns. What is a POP Mode? You can trade it in on a newer model that does offer POP detection, call or email whistler for more information. www.whistlergroup.com or [email protected]

On the bottom of the unit there should be a sticker that calls out the steps to calibrate the compass.

All whistler models run on 12 volts and the center pin of the power cord is positive.

there is no color on this model other than BLUE. Please provide more detail into this problem.

Have you tried this unit in a differnt vehicle? Does it still alarm the same? contact Whistler at 800-531-0004 and they can go through more options with you on steps to try and resolve this issue for you.

What stopped working? Does the unit power up? Is there no sound? Will the unit not alarm any more?

If it stopped working, did you check the fuse in the units' power cord or the vehicles lighter socket fuse?

If not sound, does all the other lights and buttons function? if so, is the volume control turned up?

Have you tried the unit in a different vehicle to see if the alerting still happens? Are you using two detectors power up at the same time in the same vehicle? If so, this will cause the units to false.

OPTION SELECT MODE

Option Select Mode (XTR-255/260/330)

Press the Menu button to enter Option Select

Mode. Each press of the Menu button changes

to the next selectable feature.

The Dark (D) button and the Quiet (Q) button

turns the feature ON/OFF or Blinking. The decimal

point illumination indicates whether a feature

is on or off. A button must be pressed within

20 seconds or Option Select Mode will automatically

be exited.

The fisrt option is VG-2, the second option is the Periscops (which you want to turn off) and hte third is the blue LEDs in the display.

Perform a factory reset to clear this problem. Hold the power and quiet buttons in. while hold in these buttons, plug in the power cord and the unit will beep twice indicating its been reset. This will clear the problem

VG-2 is a device the police use to tell if you have a radar detector turned on. THese are used in states where detectors are ilegal, such as VA and Washington DC. If you are not traveling in these states or operating a commercial vehicle, then there is no worries.
